SUSTAINABLE BUSINESS NETWORKS

The Sustainable Business Networks (SBNs) are the forward facing business support system run by a number of partners in Hampshire. The partnership is currently running 3 local networks across Hampshire in the North, Central and South of the County.
Local quarterly network meetings bring together engaged and like-minded businesses in an informal setting to consider a different sustainability issue each time. Past meeting themes have included Environmental Management Systems (EMS), Transport, Energy, Marketing yourself as a Sustainable Business, Sustainable Procurement, Staff Engagement and many more.
Free morning and afternoon events combine high-quality presentations from experts within the field, a practical workshop element and of course all of the valuable networking opportunities you would expect from such a group.

Network members also receive a regular e-mag with news from the sector, information from the SBN and events listings. They also have access to a SBN helpline, a comprehensive website and discounted environmental training.

Sustainable Construction Network

The Sustainable Construction Network is an industry-led initiative which aims to raise awareness of sustainability issues and opportunities within the building and construction industry.

Responding to the unique issues and pressures facing the construction industry – such as emerging legislation on waste management, the Code for Sustainable Homes, domestic energy and water concerns and the development of innovative practices, technologies and construction materials – a number of public and private sector organisations (see below for details) have joined forces to offer all local businesses access to free information, guidance, training and advice to help meet these challenges head on.

Every business involved with the construction industry, from architects to contractors, materials suppliers to waste contractors, is encouraged to join the Network. Membership, and all of the Network’s services, are entirely free of charge and carry no obligation. Through our regular newsletter we will keep you informed of news and developments within the sector, training opportunities and events, relevant existing and emerging legislation and more.
The Hampshire & IOW Sustainable Business Network is a member of the Sustainable Construction Network Steering Group which includes the following partner organisations:
